Discover the importance of implementing Fair Trade policies.

Fair trade is a form of trade that seeks to balance commercial relations between producers and consumers, ensuring that farmers receive a fair price for their products and services. In addition,  his type of trade promotes environmental and social sustainability, gender equality and respect for human rights.

In the food industry, it is important because of the number of small farmers who depend on this economic activity. Therefore, the policies in place seek to ensure that producers are paid fairly for their work and that their working conditions are safe.

At Kumara, we are committed to supporting small farmers. We believe that fair trade, environmental and social sustainability are essential for the well-being of our planet. Therefore, we implement fair trade policies because we believe that our actions can contribute to the change the world needs.

How do we do this?

Mindful of our direct work with producers and workers who often face a disadvantage in the global marketplace due to lack of access to information, resources and exploitation by intermediaries and buyers, our policies take an approach that ensures compliance with social and economic justice and sustainable labor.

In this regard, we would like to mention some of our fair trade actions:

As we take very seriously the respect for human and labor rights, we ensure that our supplier partners respect and comply with these rights too. That is why every attempt of child and forced labor must be prohibited. We also strive to promote gender equality by supporting women farmers and workers, ensuring that they receive a fair wage for their work.

We know that our farmer partners are the key to our value chain, so we provide them with financing and technical advice to help improve their farming practices and ensure that quality standards are met.

Aware of the impact of our activities, we strive to use sustainable inputs to avoid deforestation, excessive use of pesticides, and soil and water contamination.

We know this is important to our customers and consumers. That is why we are proud to be the company committed to offering products that are sustainable and ethical.

Thank you for joining us in this commitment!
